Symptoms can start years before your periods stop, and they’re easy to dismiss one by one. Together, they tell a clearer story.

If several of these sound familiar, it’s worth a conversation.

  • Hot flushes & night sweats
  • Sleep that never feels like enough
  • Brain fog & memory lapses
  • Mood changes & anxiety
  • Irregular, heavier or missing periods
  • Fatigue that rest doesn’t fix
  • Joint aches & muscle pain
  • Weight changes, especially around the middle
  • Low libido & vaginal dryness

Why it matters

Understanding Menopause

Menopause is a natural transition — but that doesn’t mean you have to struggle through it alone.

80%

Find Relief from Symptoms

Up to 80% of women experience symptoms like hot flushes or sleep issues. Personalised medical care may help manage these symptoms.

Bones

Protect Your Bone Health

Menopause accelerates bone loss, increasing osteoporosis risk. Timely treatment and lifestyle support help preserve bone density and prevent fractures.

Heart

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

New to menopause care? Here’s what you need to know before your first visit.

Is hormone replacement therapy (HRT) safe?
For most women, the benefits of HRT outweigh the risks, especially when started within 10 years of menopause. Dr. Nirusha will review your personal and family health history to determine if HRT is appropriate for you and discuss the latest evidence-based guidelines.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your Medicare card, any recent blood test results, a list of current medications, and details of your menstrual history. It’s helpful to note your symptoms and when they started. Allow 30–45 minutes for your initial consultation.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No referral is needed. Dr. Nirusha is a GP with a special interest in menopause, so you can book directly. Medicare rebates apply to all consultations.
What if I’m not sure I’m in menopause?
Many women experience symptoms years before their periods stop — this is called perimenopause. If you’re over 40 and noticing changes like irregular periods, sleep issues, mood changes, or hot flushes, it’s worth having a conversation. We can help determine where you are in your journey.
Are there non-hormonal treatment options?
Yes. While HRT is effective for many women, we also offer non-hormonal medications, lifestyle interventions, and complementary approaches. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your preferences, health history, and goals.
